Hatherlow House

Housing 21, previously the accommodation arm of the Royal British Legion, is a leading provider of retirement housing, care and support services for older people. They are one of the largest providers of home care services in the country and currently own/manage over 15,000 properties.

Working for Main Contractor, Seddon Construction, Quartzelec have just completed works on Hatherlow House, an innovative care development in Southport for MHA, which offers a new lifestyle for couples to remain living together in a home of
their own when one partner has dementia.

Methodist Homes (MHA) is a charity providing care, accommodation and support services for older people throughout Britain.
Quartzelec installed the lighting, power, sub mains, distribution, fire alarm and security. The state of the art specialist security system has future proof design, incorporating “assistive technology” warden call to manage the health and welfare of the residents, CCTV, and door entry which enables the residents to see and hear visitors before allowing them entry to the building for added reassurance.

This top rated energy efficient building is served by LED lighting, extensive controls, air source heat pumps and full energy management systems that can be controlled and monitored off site and has a BREEAM good rating.

The project comprises 33, one and two bedroom apartments and has a range of onsite facilities including a residential lounge, cafe, hair salon, therapy suite and library.
