Quartzelec, a leading independent engineering services provider, strengthens its Middle East presence by expanding its Abu Dhabi operations, more than doubling the size of its previous facility.
In response to the region's increasing demand for industrial services and the growth of key sectors such as power generation, oil & gas, and utilities, Quartzelec is making a significant investment in the Middle East. The expansion reflects the company’s commitment to support major infrastructure projects and growing customer needs across the UAE and broader region.
Situated in the Mussafah Industrial Area, the new workshop spans an impressive 2,135m² and is located on a 4,180m² plot, offering excellent transport links and room for further expansion.
Dominic Buse, International Operations Director for Quartzelec, said, "Our new, larger site allows us to better support our growing portfolio of customers in the UAE and across the Middle East. The potential for Quartzelec in key energy and infrastructure sectors is immense. With the support of Quartzelec in-house design engineering and manufacturing expertise, and a strong local presence with our sponsor Al Masaood, we are able to deliver, fast and competitive, high-end technical solutions and services which differentiates us from our competitors.
Boosted Capacity and Cutting-Edge Equipment
The expanded facility has increased Quartzelec's lifting capacity and with much-needed additional floor space, has enabled the business to invest significantly in new equipment and processes, further enhancing its ability to service the motor and generator (including turbo-generator) market and other key sectors.
John Stratton, Operations Manager, commented, "we’re excited to now have the physical space to invest in the installation of an extensive machine shop, develop a dedicated 5m2 washing area, install a second oven, upgrade our paint booth facility and importantly add a new 20 tonnes balancing machine into the mix. This investment will enable us to better support both existing contracts and future technical projects."
Further Enhancements on the Horizon
Additional investments are set to be completed in the coming weeks, including the commissioning of an LV coil looping machine and varnish tank. Quartzelec will also be adding more specialised tooling to support motor and generator overhauls.
Stratton continued, "These enhancements reduce our reliance on subcontractors, improve delivery schedules, and enable us to handle a higher volume of HV/LV motor and generator overhauls. This is critical as we take on new contracts with clients such as WEG, Veolia, and several ADNOC divisions, including ADNOC marine and offshore. The expanded facility will also help us manage larger motors from existing long-term contracts and continue to deliver exceptional service to customers across the region."
With a team of over 30 highly skilled engineers, Quartzelec’s new Abu Dhabi facility positions the company to meet the growing demand in the Middle East while continuing to lead in innovation, quality, and service delivery.
